Philodendron hastatum
Leaves like hammered metal. New growth comes in tight and silvery-blue; as they open they turn into long, pointed blades with a soft steel sheen. Give it a moss pole and the leaves get bigger and more sword-like. Leave it to trail and you still get that silver, just on a smaller scale.
A climbing aroid with easy manners. Bright, indirect light keeps the silver from going plain green. Water when the top of the chunky mix is dry. It wants to go up—stake it early if you want the mature look.
Light: Bright indirect. The silver is strongest in good light.
Water: Dry down an inch, then water well. Don’t leave it soggy.
Soil: Chunky aroid mix.
Support: Moss pole or trellis for larger leaves.
Pet note: Toxic if chewed.
