Silver Leaf Philodendron

Camouflage for the plant shelf. Brandtianum unfurls olive-green, heart-shaped leaves splashed with silver—as if someone brushed metallic paint across each one and never quite finished the job. New leaves are tighter and more patterned; older ones open wider and keep that two-tone look. It climbs a pole or trails from a basket without asking for much.

Bright, indirect light keeps the silver sharp. Too dark and the markings fade to plain green. Water when the top of the mix is dry. A chunky aroid mix and a moss pole will give you bigger, showier leaves over time.

Light: Bright indirect. The silver shows best with good light.
Water: Dry down an inch, then soak. Don’t let it sit wet.
Soil: Chunky aroid mix.
Pet note: Toxic if chewed.
