Goeppertia roseopicta ‘Dottie’

Almost-black leaves with a hot-pink outline—like someone took a marker to a dark velvet leaf and circled every edge. The midrib glows the same pink. Flip a leaf and the underside is deep burgundy. It is the dramatic one in the roseopicta family: less feathering, more contrast.

Same calathea rules, just dressed for evening. Bright, indirect light so the pink stays neon and the leaf stays dark. Distilled, rain, or filtered water if your tap is hard. Keep the mix evenly moist—not wet, not cracked-dry. Humidity keeps the edges from going crisp.

Light: Bright indirect. Sun will bleach the black and fade the pink.
Water: Evenly moist. Room-temp, low-mineral water if you can.
Humidity: Medium to high.
Soil: Light, well-draining mix.
Pet note: Non-toxic to cats and dogs.
