Fall Gold yellow raspberry (Rubus idaeus 'Fall Gold') is a premium, everbearing variety. This vigorous, upright, thorny plant features sturdy canes (often pruned to 12-24 inches) and a robust fibrous root system ready to establish quickly in well-drained, slightly acidic soil (pH 6.0-6.8).
A standout heirloom yellow raspberry since the 1970s, this self-pollinating (self-fertile) everbearer produces two crops: a moderate summer harvest on old canes and a heavy, extended fall crop (often larger and sweeter) on new canes until frost—yielding large to extra-large, golden-yellow, conic berries with exceptionally sweet, honey-like flavor (mildly tart notes) and firm texture—ideal for fresh eating off the cane, freezing, preserves, pies, or jams.
Plant it this year in full sun, provide support if needed for the tall canes (reaching 4-6 feet at maturity), and prune appropriately (for everbearers, tip-prune or remove spent canes after fruiting)—it will root in strongly and typically deliver your first harvests next year, with abundant dual-crop production building thereafter. Extremely cold-hardy in zones 4-9 (or even 3 in some sources), vigorous, disease-resistant, and adaptable, it's a top, eye-catching choice for flavorful, colorful home gardens!
