PICK UP ONLY! These will be ready mid-April for pick up. We will contact you when ready. If ordering bare root berries we CANNOT hold them until fruit trees ready for pick up as they will arrive earlier. We prefer you choose "Pay at Pick up" when checking out in case something does not arrive as expected.
The Stanley plum is a popular European prune-type variety. Ripens mid to late September. Fruits are medium to large in size (typically 1.5–2 inches long), oval to oblong with a slightly pointed end. Skin is smooth, deep purple-blue to dark blue-black with a powdery bloom; flesh is golden-yellow to amber, firm, sweet, juicy, and freestone (pits separate easily) with rich, mildly tart flavor—excellent for drying into prunes. Versatile for fresh eating, canning, preserves, jams, baking (pies, tarts), cooking, and especially drying into prunes; also great for sauces and desserts.
"Healthy bare-root plum tree, about 4-6 feet tall with a solid 1-inch trunk diameter—perfect size to plant now and enjoy fruit sooner!"
Good pollinators: Stanley is self-fertile (produces good crops without another tree), but yields are often higher with nearby European plums like Italian Prune, Green Gage, or other compatible varieties with overlapping bloom times.
