PICK UP ONLY! These will be ready mid-April for pick up. We will contact you when ready. If ordering bare root berries we CANNOT hold them until fruit trees ready for pick up as they will arrive earlier. We prefer you choose "Pay at Pick up" when checking out in case something does not arrive as expected.
The Bartlett pear is a popular classic variety (also known as Williams pear). Ripens mid to late summer (typically August to early September).
Fruits are medium in size (typically 2.5–3.5 inches long), classic pear-shaped (pyriform: rounded bell bottom with a narrower neck).Skin starts green and ripens to bright golden-yellow (sometimes with a light pink blush); flesh is white, smooth, very juicy, buttery-soft, and sweetly aromatic with a classic "pear" flavor.Versatile for fresh eating, snacking, salads, canning, preserves, baking (pies, crisps), cooking, and cider.
"Healthy bare-root pear tree, about 4-6 feet tall with a solid 3/4 inch trunk diameter—perfect size to plant now and enjoy fruit sooner!"
Good pollinators: Clapps Favorite, Bosc, D'Anjou, Moonglow, Seckel. (Bartlett is partially self-fertile but yields much better with cross-pollination; avoid another Bartlett).
