This is a classic, heavy-bearing sour (tart) cherry variety, widely regarded as the gold standard for pies, jams, preserves, baking, and fresh processing.Upon establishment, it grows into a vigorous, self-fertile tree reaching 12-15 feet tall and wide, with a rounded to spreading form and beautiful spring white blossoms. Expect an abundance of bright red, medium-large fruit with firm, clear-to-pale yellow flesh and that signature rich, tangy flavor—perfect for cherry pie without added color or excessive sweetness. Ripens in July. Extremely winter-hardy (USDA Zones 4-8), disease-resistant, and easy to grow compared to sweet cherries, it's a reliable choice for home orchards, gardens, or edible landscapes. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil for best results.
Partially self-pollinating but would produce larger harvest with two.
